However some devices may not get configured properly at boot time if your BIOS has an option titled: "Enable legacy storage" under USB settings. If this setting is off - you may find yourself re-plugging the device after booting up, in case if it does not work properly. Only with this setting on, if present, the BIOS will provide a current greater than some minimum value, I think 100 mA.

A brute force method may be do get a two male USB to one female USB cable for extra power. CAUTION - may have electrical / power draw safety issues.ujLionhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09095957297041936933noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2682980146054665631.post-24356621801333327482019-07-26T17:31:10.512-07:002019-07-26T17:31:10.512-07:00FRICK SAME HEREFRICK SAME HERESebhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03141986428867145452noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2682980146054665631.post-64289281827084562932019-07-10T11:03:29.637-07:002019-07-10T11:03:29.637-07:00Just to add to the list of things need to get this...Just to add to the list of things need to get this going...

Got an old USB 2.0 stick that my old PC (Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 mobo) absolutely refused to recognize for booting off of it - tried everything in this thread, but boot settings, timing of insertion, Rufus, etc. was not enough. I even disabled all other hdd's, ssd's, disc drives and boot from LAN... It just wouldn't show up under +Hard Disk or boot from it, despite it being the only storage device at all left in the PC. Stick worked perfectly in Windows all along.

Am smashing my head on the keyboard now that I did get it to boot, eventually.
